Castletroy Park Hotel, Limerick
23rd–24th September 2026
Ireland’s Intelligent Mobility Future: Connecting Policy, Places and People
This year’s conference theme is “Ireland’s Intelligent Mobility Future: Connecting Policy, Places and People.” The event will explore how policy, data, infrastructure and innovation can be aligned to deliver Ireland’s next generation of intelligent transport systems.
Bringing together public-sector leaders, transport authorities, industry specialists, researchers and technology providers, the conference will provide a national forum for discussing Ireland’s evolving mobility priorities and its position within the wider European ITS landscape.
What to Expect
Across two days, expert speakers and panelists will examine the policies, technologies and collaborative approaches shaping the future of transport, including:
Policy and Governance: Explore the transposition of the EU ITS Directive and the alignment of national objectives with local-authority transport strategies.
Data, AI and Digital Intelligence: Examine the growing role of artificial intelligence, machine learning and the National Access Point in improving transport planning, operations and information services.
Next-Generation Public Transport: Hear how initiatives such as BusConnects, DPTIMS, next-generation ticketing and real-time passenger information are creating more integrated and accessible transport networks.
Connected and Cooperative Mobility: Discuss developments in Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility, including C-ITS, vehicle-to-infrastructure communication and interoperability.
Preparing for the ITS World Congress 2027: Consider how Ireland can demonstrate its capabilities, strengthen international collaboration and showcase its readiness ahead of the ITS World Congress in Birmingham.
The programme will combine strategic presentations, technical sessions and panel discussions, providing valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge, build professional connections and contribute to the conversation shaping Ireland’s intelligent mobility future.
The conference will be preceded by a Road Authority Interest Group meeting open to Public-Sector employees only.
This years conference will include a small exhibition in the form of a tabletop showcase featuring a select group of leading organisations from across the intelligent transport sector. This will run alongside the event and open during scheduled breaks, giving delegates an opportunity to meet exhibitors and explore the latest ITS technologies, products and services.
