ITS Ireland Schools Ambassador Programme – Call for Speakers
The pilot ITS Ireland Schools Ambassador Programme has progressed successfully whereby we have delivered a suite of presentations and videos under the banner of “the role of ITS in delivering Sustainable Transport” to participating Transition Year students. The presentations to date have helped us to achieve our objective of raising awareness of ITS amongst 2nd-level students whilst also collaborating with schools to maximise the benefit to students in terms of both learning and broadening their horizons.
We plan to complete the pilot programme with a careers seminar in the Holy Family Secondary School in Newbridge, Co. Kildare. The objective of this event is to raise awareness of the variety of interesting and rewarding career options within the ITS sector and hopefully encourage the Transition Year students to consider ITS as a career choice.
The seminar will take place on the afternoon of Monday 16th May and, given that this is an all-girls school, we are seeking female volunteers to provide a summary presentation describing their current role, some of the exciting projects they have worked on and why they like working in the ITS sector. These presentations can be given in-person at the event, dialling in to the event via Teams or submitting a short video that can be played during the seminar.
This is an excellent opportunity for ITS Ireland members to participate in this exciting initiative and to inspire the next generation of ITS professionals.
All members who are interested in participating in the seminar are invited to contact us at info@itsireland.ie.
