“MOTORWAY COMMUNICATIONS (SERIES 1500) MASTERCLASS” presented by Aidan Smyth, TII Senior Electronics Technician.

Aidan, is highly respected within this field, having accumulated many years’ experience on Ireland’s motorway and national road network, overseeing, deploying and maintaining ITS installations (TMUs, School Warning Signs, VMS, ANPR, ducting/ chambers, cabinets) across the network. Aidan’s forte involves the management of traffic data from circa 400 Traffic Monitoring Units. Aidan is also actively involved in any revisions required to Series 1500 publication.

Aidan will be providing an overview of ;

• SERIES 1500 – Traffic Control and Motorway Communication Standards including departure procedure when & where applicable.
• Highlighting the importance of good practices while installing and maintaining technology installation, both at the roadside and supporting sub-surface technology infrastructure, including loops, ducting, chambers and the relevant testing requirements.

Pre booking is essential as numbers must be provided in advance for food preparation.
