ITS Ireland successful held its first Annual Christmas luncheon at the Morrison’s Hotel in Dublin. Members braved the difficult travelling and walking conditions and were warmly greeted with a pre-lunch reception.
Over 55 Members enjoyed the relaxed environment which facilitated the free flow of conversation and exchange of ideas fuelling group enthusiasm to face the challenges of 2011.
Mr. David O’Keeffe, ITS Ireland Chairman, extended Season Greetings on behalf of the ITS Board to all ITS Ireland members and all are looking forward to a prosperous New Year.
David made a number of announcements including details of an ITS Ireland Sponsored Technical Seminar by Mr. Mark Kelly from Dublin Bus, who will present on the implementation of Dublin Bus’s AVLS (Automatic Vehicle Locating System). The presentation will focus on:
- The implementation of the system from the service providers point of view;
- How Dublin Bus interacts with other authorities, providers and customers;
- The management of system during exceptional events like concerts or the recent snow falls.
The ITS Ireland Sponsored Seminar will take place on 24th February 2011, at Westmanstown Golf Club, Clonsilla at 12.30pm. Admission is free for ITS Ireland Members and €50 for non members. More information will be available at www.itsireland.ie in the coming month.
Also, confirmation was given that the 2011 ITS Ireland Annual Conference and Exhibition will be held in Galway on October 7th with the ITS Ireland AGM scheduled for the evening before.
