Research and Development with ITS Ireland

As part of our continuing education efforts, ITS Ireland has developed a new initiative to advance research and development into ITS-related subject matter. Our aim is to generate funding from our membership base so that we can then invest in subjects that will advance R&D efforts for the good of the ITS community in Ireland.

The inaugural R&D effort is sponsored by the Arup Trust who has donated €5,000 to ITS Ireland for this purpose during 2015. The Institute of Technology Tallaght will provide the academic resources necessary to deliver advances into Cooperative ITS (C-ITS), the subject matter chosen for this year’s efforts.

This initiative was formally launched at our recent site visit to the Dublin City Council Traffic Control Centre. As part of their deliverables, IT Tallaght will disseminate their findings during the 6th Annual ITS Ireland Conference which will take place in September 2015.
