The European Program Committee (EPC) for the 2013 ITS European Congress met on the 20/21 February at Jury’s Inn, Dublin. During the 2 days the EPC also collated the 300+ technical and scientific papers that had been submitted, grouping them in logical bundles for the technical sessions and marked any outstanding papers not previously reviewed. Although some papers still require some additional work before being fully accepted, this should give us around 40 to 45 technical and scientific paper presentation sessions featuring over 300 individual presentations from different speakers. The conference programme consists of 3 plenary sessions, 9 executive sessions and some 46 special interest sessions and 45 technical and scientific presentations.

During the EPC meeting members took the opportunity to visit the Convention Centre the location for the congress. The EPC members seemed very impressed with the building, in addition during the visit we were joined by Minister of State Alan Kelly a keen supporter of the congress which added a further boost.

Minister of State Alan Kelly joined the committee for a tour of the state-of-the-art Convention Centre on the evening of the 20th before members adjourned for dinner at the nearby Quay 16 Restaurant.

The EPC members are a combination of ERTICO and ITS Association members who act as a conduit for the promotion of the congress, form the programme and provide speaker and subject material for the event.
