ITS Ireland hosted a successful seminar on the topic of “ITS for Local Authorities” on the 8th November in the Killashee Hotel, Naas, Co. Kildare.

The seminar was aimed at Irish Local Authority staff interested in learning about Intelligent Transport Systems and about how ITS can be a key enabler for delivery of Local Authority transport management objectives.

The seminar included four presentations on various ITS technologies and their implementation by and for local authorities as follows:

The presenters then participated in a panel discussion on how ITS as an enabler for assisting Local Authorities.
The presentations and discussions highlighted that ITS solutions come in all shapes and sizes so can be applied in urban, inter-urban and rural environments.
