Working closely with Enterprise Ireland, ITS Ireland assisted in organising a workshop designed to help raise company awareness on Framework Programme 7 (FP7) opportunities and to provide input on the 2012 work plan with a view to increasing funding opportunities for ITS related projects. The Framework is the European Union’s main instruments for supporting collaborative research, development and innovations in science, engineering and technology. Participation is on an internationally collaborative basis and must involve European partners. The workshop was led by industry experts who provided an overview of the call content and provided strategies on how to actively engage in FP7 along with a number of Government Bodies presenting on their experience of participating in FP7.
The Framework Programmes offers valuable opportunities for Ireland’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs), multinational corporations (MNCs), healthcare professionals and academic researchers to participate in high-quality research collaborations with their European counterparts, with the support of EU funding. The EU agenda complements our national priorities with an emphasis on moving new discoveries and products to commercialisation and approval.
ITS Ireland in cooperation with Enterprise Ireland hope to organise future workshops throughout the year and all ITS Ireland members shall be notified once these are confirmed. If you have any queries regarding participation in the FP7 programme please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
There are a few tasks that we would encourage all ITS Ireland members to do. These include:
2) Register your details on CORDIS, the main European Framework 7 website http://cordis.europa.eu/partners-service/dc/index.cfm fuseaction=connexion.dologin&location=create.create§ion=Partners. Click on the link “register here” to add your details.
3) Register as an Expert: https://cordis.europa.eu/emmfp7/index.cfm. Click on the link “ new expert” to register as an individual. Note: Experts are called to assist in reviewing proposals and is an excellent means of actively engaging in the EU funding process and understanding the FP7 process.
