Dublin City Council will host the Velo-city 2019 international cycling conference

After a successful bid, Dublin City Council will host the Velo-city 2019 international cycling conference in Dublin from the 24th to the 28th June 2019.

The Velo-city conference is an annual global cycling summit, widely considered as the premier international cycling conference and serves as an information platform and target to influence decision makers. For this reason you may be interested in exploring some of the sponsorship opportunities that are available in the attached sponsorship document. The conferences are held in Europe every second year and then in the alternative years the conferences are held in locations throughout the world.

A key theme of the conferences is to encourage cycling as part of daily transport and recreation. The conferences also seek to improve the policies, planning and provision of infrastructure for cycling and the daily use of the bike in an urban environment. New developments in cycling, technological advances and changes in equipment or mobility systems are also covered at these conferences.

The conferences traditionally see attendees from all levels of government, representatives of associations, institutions, universities and various companies, as well as policy-makers, social agents, and industry experts. The conferences naturally attract those with an interest in cycling but also those involved in the area of technology, health, behavioural change, urban and infrastructure policies, mobility and those involved in transport generally. We also expect to see a sizeable number of attendees from local authorities across Ireland and the UK, especially given the increased focus on all matters relating to cycling.
