Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) refers to connectivity and interoperability between harmonised digital systems, services and applications in a multi-modal transport environment. The European Commission has stated that CCAM is the roadmap to a digital transport network where technology and operations become an integrated component of a harmonized approach to addressing multiple transport policy objectives leading to safer, more efficient and sustainable movement of people and goods.
CCAM is the enabler for a digital transport network. The challenge for transport practitioners is to identify what a digital transport network could look like and how it can provide real solutions for their specific needs.
ITS Ireland is organising a half-day seminar that will provide attendees with an overview of the EU Digital Transport Network concept; an update on Irish activities in this area (CAV, C-ITS) and a summary briefing on the next EU research funding framework (Horizon Europe).
